reviews:
Performer Magazine, Nov 07
"With a sound that embraces the defiant punk vocals and lyrics that challenge both the decisions of our current government administration and the dangerous apathy of the listener, DB continues to defy strict genre categories with this new release... Overall, sEParation is a successful follow-up. Edgy, spirited and at times surprisingly catchy, the record asks bold questions, ultimately leaving the listener to find the answers."

The Noise, Oct 07
"...their mix of reggae and punk works quite well, and while that's an easy pairing of which to be skeptical, there's no authenticity issue here either... Destroy Babylon is worth keeping an eye on."

Smother Magazine, April 07
"Reggae punk is their flavor but they add in elements of math rock, jigsaw rhythms, and counter-culture lyrics. Highly energetic the group sounds much more populated than a mere trio. This is a blister of punk rock who should never have time to properly heal."

notes: This EP was recorded in Allston at Analog Divide, a small analog-only studio run by Tim Shea of Black Helicopter. The room is also used as a practice spot for other locals such as Mission of Burma, and we were stoked when Roger Miller popped his head in the first day. The tracking was basically done live in a few takes on Saturday, and mixed on Sunday. This was certainly the quickest recording we've ever put together, and it was both fun and challenging to mix everything live to 2" tape. I think we had 4 of us at the helms for the "Apathy" dub mix. The sixth track is a remix that our buddy Gejius created using snippets from our first album. The final track was actually recorded sometime in 2005 by John and Mercer, using a trombone and a DL4, and thought it was appropriate to tack on this nightmare-enducing track to close out the album.

The cover art was a concept by DB, and painted by good friend and amazing artist KTRON. We wanted to see God portrayed in the likes of Lee "Scratch" Perry's Superape, decapitating President Bush in the likes of Alfred E. Newman. We think she nailed it. The album title is a play on the lyrical theme of separation of church and state, along with the obvious depiction of W's head separated from his body. Oh, if only wings could take dreams...

The original release of this album was in a 5" x 6.5" hand made jacket packed with a 6 page booklet and two discs, the second containing the entire live set from our Pipeline! performance. This was limited to 100 hand numbered copies and has sold out. It is now available on iTunes (without the final track).
